A fantastic trip where to Myoko in Niigata where we spent 2 days in the powder. John, Miyuki, Mark Eite, Deryk Bliss & Matt Setters joined in the fun in the trees. We were looked after by Esaka-san who gave us free lift tickets and took us for a midnight boarding session at the local golf course on the back of his CAT-mobile! |

The new year was spent up in fukushima prefecture where we just caught the first snow of the season. We also took in the beautiful Aizu Wakamatsu Castle. |

Appi is one of the most famous resorts in Japan, so me, Miyuki and Matt Chunky Robinson had to check out what the fuss was about. The lamb bbq in the igloo was certainly worth the trip up to Iwate. The Korean lady at the mishuku we stayed at also fed us mountains of yakiniku, which is always appreciated by me and Matt. |

New Year was spent up in Yamagata for the second year running - this time with Matt Robinson and Deryk Bliss. There wasn't much snow around on the slopes but we made up for that with lots of drinking and games of Guillotine. |

John and Miyuki at Zao-Onsen in Yamagata. Zao is famous for it's Monster Trees called "juhyou" , so called because of the way the snow is frozen into windswept ice. This gives the trees a life and character of their own. |
